Correspondence between Samuel Neel and Robert Bowen of Greenville, S.C. includes manuscript and typed letters, newspaper clippings, and miscellaneous enclosures. The majority of letters are from Robert Bowen and include references to Adger family history and genealogy; James Adger (ship); description of living conditions of a tenant farmer at Rivoli Plantation (Dec. 1, 1960); dissension between the Mullally and Bowen families (Dec. 1 and 9, 1960); work on the Sword Gate house in Charleston, S.C. (Feb. 10, 1961); Woodburn, Ashtabula and Boscobel plantations in S.C.; and the Foundation for Historic Restoration (Pendleton, S.C.). Also included are references to education in S.C.
